MEDes Communicator and Coordinator / Cologne
As discussed in the Glasgow workshop, Cologne offers a one-year post for a MEDes Student that has already finished his (or her) second year abroad.
The Communicator will be in charge of make the evident visible: we all know (or feel) about the specific qualities of the MEDes - but we have to communicate it to people outside the MEDes. So it is about communicating the core values, making them visible. Actually, the Communicator has to collect the information at all the partner schools, will be able to travel to those places and squeeze the information about the responsible local coordinators, the students, the alumni.
Furthermore, it is about deepening the relations between the partners - this means fostering joint projects, workshop etc. At the EU-Level, research in possible funding programs should be done - supported by the experience of Helsinki and Milan. All the universities comitted in supporting this person - and Cologne supports this person in offering a post including a salary (based on a half-time position) of 400-600 Euro/month, an office and the full working infrastructure. Work will start in August/September 2007 - so this is a good bridge for the final master year beginning in summer 2008. We look forward to this important next step!
