DesignEd

Hello everyone,

It's getting near the end of the semester, so I guess everyone is quite busy!
Just an update from Helsinki side: Mats, Stefano, Timo and I have
initiated a workshop together called DesignEd (www.desed.org), which
will take place at Industrial Design Department, Chulalongkorn
University, Bangkok from July 28th - August 6th 2007.

The aim of the workshop is to share design education experiences
between European and other design institutes - starting in Bangkok.
The theme here is called "Sustainable Luxury: The New Luxury."
Actually, it would be nice to hear what you guys think about the
theme.

We are posting questions such as how to deal with wastes in the future
when mass-produced goods are more easily accessible to the majority of
the population... We can even discuss about how create a sustainable
infrastucture for a city, or just how to make your Luois Vuitton bags
last a bit longer.... (damn, didn't you pay a lot for that?)

And hmmm, might as well take this opportunity to ask if anyone knows
someone who would be interested in sponsoring us to go get tanned in
Thailand? But seriously, at the moment, UIAH and the Thai university
has partially sponsored us with a sum of money, but it still isn't
enough to cover our flights.... any professors out there? or students?
