courses,courses,courses...

Hi it's again me, lorenzo. I'm back again with tons of questions:
-I would like to partecipate at the course "play:Second life and first life",
but in the same period there is the course "Stopmotion Kurzfilm". Is it
possible to choose both or is not possible to follow a LP and a MP courses at
the same time? Do you think that the work-load will be acceptable?

Thanks again
Lorenzo Fernandez

Hi Lorenzo,

well that is a tough question because it depends on different aspects. In general: when you choose projects at KISD it is not granted that you are able to participate in the chosen projects. It depends on the number of the applying students. So when semester starts - or I think even before - there will be the lists in school from the projects, seminars and workshops etc. with the names of the students which will be able to participate.

When your name is under the first ca. 10 people then you have a granted place in the project, seminar ... etc. If your name is between ca. 10-15 you are a "Nachrücker". If someone from the first 10 is not showing up on the first project meeting the first "Nachrücker" will get his place. If the first "Nachrücker" is not showing up as well the second "Nachrücker" will get the place ... etc.

BUT ! ! ! If you really want to participate in a project and you are not even on of the "Nachrücker" you should go to the first project meeting anyway. Because it might happen that so many people are missing that you will get a place even if you are not on the list.

Now to your specific question:
Taking a MT and a LT project at the same time could work if the MT P is at the beginning of the LT P. Because LT P tend to start slowly. But officially this is not recommended.

But as I said before, if you choose a project you don't know for sure if you will get a place.
Even-though you have to choose your projects etc. in advance the actual semester planing will start at KISD. It might be a little confusing at the beginning but you can ask everybody and I am sure some professor will help you on the ground.

Well I havn't been at KISD for a while so they might have changed something? There might be even a different procedure for MEDes students but I don't think so. I would be glade if some of the former KISD MEDes students would comment then.

see you around ...
